I went to a really cool party hosted by Kirby Fukunaga, a Hawaiian Pro surfer that's been coming to Japan over the years chasing typhoons, doing JPSA events and having a good time along the way. He had been taking care of a couple of young Hawaiian rippers, Kelia and Isaiah Moniz, with big futures ahead of them and the party was to push their profiles in the Japan surf scene. At the party I met a friend of Sei Nagai, Tomio. He is a really talented artist with a groovy laid back vibe to his surf and beach lifestyle inspired works. He was doing a live painting as the party proceeded around him and one lucky party-goer had the lucky ticket to win the finished product. I'm sure it looks good on someone's wall!
